From Gerri:

just call TFile::Open() recursively on the path GetFileAndOptions()
(instead of the TFile constructor) in the case no dedicated plug-in is found.
This fixes a problem with opening "srm://srm.cern.ch//castor/..." and
"/castor/..." as reported by Atlas.
